Golf orientation camp on full swing
ITANAGAR, June 5: A Raj Bhavan initiative, the Golf Orientation camp, which began on June 2 last is on full swing at Indira Gandhi Park. Finer points like grip, stance, weight shifting, head steady, back swing, follow through, long drive and posture are taught in the sessions. Brief on the rules of golfing and dress code were apprised on the first day, reports PRO to Governor.
Total of fifty-one participants, including school children, army personnel and government officials are taking part in it.
The trainees are divided into three groups, i.e. Kameng, Siang and Lohit. The first session starts at 7.00 am, while the second session begins from 8.45 am. Each session continues for one hour and thirty minutes.
Chief Coach Ali Sher from Indian Golf Union and his Assistant Shyam Lal are conducting the camp organized by the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs as an effort to promote new and popular sports along with indigenous ones.
