Governor for recruitment process within the state for arunachal scouts

calls for additional forces in insurgency affected district

 

Itanagar, April 7: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Gen JJ Singh, who is on a official tour to National Capital called on the Union Defence Minister AK Antony at South Block, New Delhi today. While expressing gratefulness to the Union Minister for sanctioning of a Battalion of Arunachal Scouts, the Governor impressed upon him for expediting the process of recruitment and has the process done within the State, reports PRO to Governor.

            Gen Singh, who recently visited Vijoynagar and who always had been advocating for secondary or subsidiary Airports, urged upon Defence Minister for up-gradation of Advance Landing Ground (ALGs) in such air facilities, which can, not only be used for transportation but also for tourism.

            Taking up security matters at the highest level, Gen Singh requested for additional forces of Assam Rifles and Army in the insurgency inflicted areas of the State.

            Underlining the importance of the regular Security Core Group meetings, Governor stressed on the attendance of senior army officials in it. He also emphasized on zero tolerance on insurgency and terrorism.

            The Security Core Group, which was set up at the initiative of the Governor, till date had four important meetings and it is proving its purpose for which it was set.
