Itanagar Sep 11: Chairing the 11th Meeting of the State Managing Committee on the welfare of the Ex-Servicemen held on 11th September, 2008 at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar, His Excellency the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Gen J J Singh, PVSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd) said that the Government of Arunachal Pradesh will do its best to ensure welfare of Ex-Servicemen. He said, “As a former Army man the issue regarding welfare and resettlement is very close to my heart and I will do my best to bring about the same.” He also promised that the Rajya Sainik Board will be established immediately and Zila Sainik Board will be established within two months time. He also appealed to Kendriya Sainik Board to relax various norms as Arunachal Pradesh is a special category State. His Excellency also promised to take up the necessary issues with the Hon’ble Union Minister of Defence. The Governor also hoped that all the Ex-Servicemen will serve as role model for the citizens of Arunachal Pradesh and will take up various pilot projects under organic farming, medicinal plants, bee keeping etc.
