GOVERNOR MEETS THE PRESIDENT

Raj Bhawan May 23-On the occasion of 2552nd BUDDHA JAYANTI His Excellency the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh General ( Retd.) J.J. Singh and the First Lady of the state Madam Anupama Singh called Her Excellency, the President of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. On the behalf of the people of Arunachal Pradesh in general and the Buddhist community of Tawang area in particular, His Excellency and Madam presented a beautiful Thangka painting.

Taking this opportunity, His Excellency also briefed Her Excellency, the President on the various developmental activities in Arunachal Pradesh including the implementation on PMs package. He also and extended a cordial invitation on the behalf of the people of Arunachal Pradesh to visit this frontier state. Her Excellency appreciated the Thangka painting and happily accepted the invitation. Her visit may be materialized in the month of November this year.

His Excellency also presented a bottle of local honey produced in Raj Bhavan, Itanagar under the initiative of His Excellency himself. On this visit, both His Excellency and the First Lady were clad in local Arunachalee apparel.
