Khandu sworn-in as Chief Minister
Itanagar, Oct 27: Dorjee Khandu, who led the Congress Party to two-third majority in the recently concluded Assembly election, was sworn-in for the second stint as the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh in a glittering function here on sunday.
Governor Gen J.J Singh, who in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 164(1) of the Constitution of India had earlier appointed Khandu to the office, administrated the oath of secrecy at Darbar Hall, Raj Bhavan.
AICC central observer V Narayanasamy and senior congress leader Luizinho Faleiro along with State Congress Party Chief Nabum Tuki, Rajya Sabha Member Mukut Mithi, Lok Sabha members Takam Sanjay and Ninong Ering were present on the occasion. Elected members to the fifth legislative assembly of Arunachal Pradesh, senior bureaucrats, former leaders, guests and invitees along with entire media fraternity witnessed the function.
Later interacting with the media persons, Gen Singh said, the passion and enthusiasm with which Arunachalees participated in the election is there for the world to see. Through the free and fair election, the people of the State have given a clear verdict. This is the true face of democracy, the Governor pointed, reports PRO to Governor.
