Governor on visit to Tawang and West Kameng
Itanagar, July 31: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Gen JJ Singh, who is on tour by road to the western part of Arunachal Pradesh reached Tawang in the afternoon yesterday. Driving through the monsoon downpour, the Governor, who had a two-night halt at Dirang, experienced the breathtaking sceneries enroute from Bhalukpong to Tawang. It was a first hand experience for the Governor, who always advocated to exploiting the natural beauty in the region through tourism,reports RajBhawan PRO.
On his arrival to the Gate of Tawang, the Sela Pass, he was accorded a warm reception led by the Tawang Deputy Commissioner, Gamli Padu, SP, Norbu Mosobi, Jung ADC Duli Kamduk and others.
14km from Sela, towards Tawang, the former chief of the Indian Army pay homage to Mahavir Chakra awardee Late Jaswant Singh at the famous Jaswant Ghar, a war memorial built in his memory. Jaswant Ghar is a place where patriotic emotions of all Indians find a natural ex-pression.
The Governor, before reaching Tawang stopped at the famous Nuranang or Jung Water falls. He made suggestion to the senior officials to further making it more appealing to the tourists and guests visiting the district.
Earlier, on July 28 at Bomdila Gen Singh visited the Gentse Gaden Rabgyel Ling Monastery, popularly known as the GRL Gompa, Bomdila . Accompanied by the State First Lady Anupama Singh, the Governor paid obeisance at the monastery. The monastery resembles the Tsona Gontse Monastery at Tsona in South Tibet, which was built by the 12th reincarnate of Tsona Gontse Rinpoche in 1965.
The Governor and his entourage were accorded a warm reception by Rev. T.G. Rimpoche and the monks on his arrival at the Monastery. Interacting with them, Gen Singh expressed his admiration for the noble work of Rev Rimpoche, who is the 13th Tsona Gontse Rinpoche. As a token of love, he made personal cash contribution towards the Welfare Fund of the monastery.
